All too often science and religion are – or seem to be – at odds with each other. But neither religion nor science can provide us with a conclusive explanation, as the deeper our excavation of reality is, the more mysteries we encounter regardless of the tools we make use of in our exploration.
The Gloves Come Off by authors Kaisa and Christoffer Leka examines the philosophies underpinning science and religion with the aim to discern the questions they hold in common. As often is the case the questions are more important than the answers they provide us with, as fundamentalism so well in science as in religion will lead us astray. Pride inevitably goes before fall.
In its essence Kaisa’s and Christoffer’s book is the antidote to such pride – I would go as far as to call it an anti-fundamentalist manifesto.
