As hard as it is one must believe it. A drum'n bass record that is among the best has been created by domestic forces.

"From Shadow to Substance" lacks completely the tenseness, hysteria and anxiety far too common in this genre. The music is relaxing and refreshing, groovy enough to be danced to and complex enough to be listened to and even uplifting for the mind and spirit.

The guys behind the record are Hare Krishnas, which you notice most from the names of the songs and the texts on the cover. Otherwise the philosophy is being presented only at the end of the record in a truly funny lecture.

You better open your ears to Mikko Hassinen's outstanding breakbeats and baselines. They are accompanied by Mikko Paavola's guitar riffs and Markus Holkko's saxophone. Try it out and enjoy - who knows, you might get enlightened.
