Gone are the days when the audience for sequential art consisted solely of the youth. If you have a hard time grasping this concept I strongly suspect that you have been enjoying the life of a hermit for the past twenty years. Or alternatively living in a Hare Krishna temple for the same amount of time. Either way, you have been effectively protected from the turbulent and rapidly changing times we live in.

Now then, it's time to wake up and smell the coffee. Fact: Comics are not merely kids' stuff. Sure, there still are comics that target this specific segment. There always will be. And surely there is no harm in this. But we should be aware that this only represents a fragment of a very diverse, interesting field of expression.

Through the medium of comics we can approach even delicate subject matters easier. For their form does not yet carry the heavy load of seriousness so apparent in other forms of communication. Comics are easy to pick up, but hard to put down. They carry the ability to convey magnamous thoughts and beautiful art harmoniously combined.

Remember, matters of great concern should be treated lightly.
