Kaisa's comic books are a series of albums that vary in format, name and approach, but have one thing in common: the theme of spiritual searching and (possible) growth.

Kaisa has published four comic books so far: Kaisan lehti, Kaisa's zine 2, Kaisa's Komiks 3 and Kaisa's foot 4. The formats vary from a 12-page copied zine made during a one-week comics course to a silkscreened poster magazine that is currently unavailable due to the fact that most of the zines were destroyed in a spring-cleaning.

The largest of Kaisa's efforts is Kaisa's Komiks 3, a 64-page comic album. Kaisa worked on the album for nearly a year, and during the course of that year some parts of it were published in a Finnish magazine for students. The print run was 500.

The magazine contains a monologue about Kaisa's chosen spiritual path as well as one-page comics about the world surrounding her. Kaisa was fascinated by the fact that the conservative one-page format minimizes the need for drawings and texts that aren't absolutely necessary in getting to the point. The monologue was added as a special feature to the book to offer something more than rambling thoughts about the modern western society.

Kaisa's style of drawing is simple with strong black lines. Her characters whom everyone immediately recognices as variations of their more famous cousin gives a special effect to the comics, turning the epitome of western comsumerism against itself.

Kaisa's Komiks 3 is available for $ 5/5 € (includes postage and packaging). The product code is KK-3. Please see the Ordering page for more specific instructions.
